One thing is for certain...we’re not going anywhere
Dear Happy Body Friends,
Oh how grateful we are for each of you! A huge thank you to everyone who has signed up for an online class, duo, or private session; bought props; purchased a gift certificate; made an in kind donation; or reached out to check on us! We have felt the bolstering from you in these challenging days and we are incredibly grateful.
We are hanging in there, and like many of you, taking each day moment by moment. Most days I look back on the day and wonder exactly what I did. The days seem to run together, but I feel the real work of transformation and possibility emerging from deep within.
My map of orienting to purpose, connection, and ease has shifted a bit, but one thing that keeps it stable and true is trusting my relationship to movement, breath, and my own sensations.
I am following the nudges of my body to move when I feel like moving and rest when I need some stillness. I am learning to continue to release what I always felt were the “non negotiables” of daily life, and focus back on the capacity I have presently to meet the moment. That is enough.
I’ve been following the nudges of my heart to create new classes based in the principles of Ortho-Bionomy, and share those with people wanting to connect with their own sense of wholeness and ways to cultivate their unique capacities. It’s really been a blast, and something I wouldn’t have had the time or space to produce without a deep pause. Our next class is online this Tuesday, May 5, from 5-7 pm Eastern time, and you’re welcome to join us live or watch the recording later. Our topic is Anxiety and Vagus Nerve Attunement. There are some techniques offered for practitioners, some self-care techniques, and lots of learning about our nervous system. We’re hoping to be able to open our doors soon, but that will likely mean many new protocols in place to continue to operate with public health at the forefront. As soon as we know how that might happen, we’ll let you know.
In the meantime, we hope you’ll join Jess or Mallory for one of their regular mat, magic circle, or foam roller classes happening weekly.
Or, try out an online pilates or yoga private session with Kara, Mallory, Jess, or Ruth. Our clients and instructors are finding this a welcome and productive connection in these varied times.
Wishing you much health and wellbeing,
Jessica
